Upcoming Events

Saturday 12th May 2018
Coach Ramble to Grinton/Apedale and Reeth
 
The coach leaves Ilkley Od Bridge on Stockeld Rd., Ilkley. LS29 9HD at 9.00 am. The coach fare is £16 per person. Could you please pay this to Andrew by no later than 22nd April.

There are two walks on offer - 

A 10 mile circular walk from Grinton to Apedale  to be led by John and Pam Daniels.

A more leisurely walk of 6 miles from Reeth to be led by Phil Chadwick. 

There is also the option of doing your own walk or look around the village of Reeth should you wish to do so.


The post walk meal is at the CB Inn at Arkengarthdale and will be served at 17.30. The cost of the meal is £15.50 p.p. Could you please give Andrew the deposit of £5 for the meal and meal choices; along with the coach fare; by no later than 22nd April. 

The coach will depart from Arkengarthdale at around 19.00 and is due to return to Ilkley by 21.00.

Summer Meal at the Calf's Head in Worston near Clitheroe

A table has been booked for the Craven Ramblers for a carvery meal at the Calf' Head, Worston, Clitheroe (just off the A59). BB7 1QA. for 15.00. The meal costs £12.50 for two coures and £16.25 for three courses. Payment and menu choices  is to be made on the day.

The meal follows a walk on the quieter side of Pendle Hill which takes in fine views of the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales. 
The walk will depart from outside the Calf's Head at 9.30 and is categorised as an 8 mile moderate/strenuous walk. This will build up an appetite for those having the optional post walk meal.

Parking is available for patrons only.

Annual Walking Weekend

Both a  short and a longer led walk are planned to take place on Saturday 14 July with a medium led walk arranged for Sunday 15 July.

The Windermere Hotel, Windermere is the designated hotel so please book your own accommodation for the weekend directy. The hotel has 70 bedrooms, including 10 single rooms. They also have offers, for example you can stay Sunday night as an extra if you wish to spend more time in the Lake District. The car park costs £8 per vehicle per day. Coach Ramble to Lady Anne's Highway - Pendragon Castle 

There is to be a led linear 9 mile walk  by John and Pam  as part of the Lady Anne's Highway from north of Hawes to Pendragon Castle to enjoy stunning views.

There is also opportunity to join a shorter 6 mile walk or stay in and around Hawes. 

The coach will pick up passengers at the JAK travel depot near Keighley at 8.15 am and then at Skipton Town Hall car park at 8.30 am. En route there will be a coffee stop at the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes before the walk. The cost of the coach is  £17 per person and payment is required by 31st August please to Andrew Gold. 

A two course post meal at the Station Inn at Ribblehead at 17.45 is also priced at £17 per person and that is payable on the day. Choices from the menu below are required by Andrew no later than 9th September please along with details of any special dietary requirements. Cancellations after the 20th September will have to be paid for in full to the Station Inn on 23rd September.

Station Pie - Juicy steak pieces cooked in real ale, served with chips and fresh seasonal vegetables

Ham (carved from a joint of ham) and Free Range Eggs, served with chips

Vegetarian Lasagne with garlic bread and a side salad.

Chocolate Pudding, served with custard, cream or ice cream
