Henry Mason, Chairman of the Craven Ramblers, runs map & compass courses in the Craven area. The course is an excellent opportunity for beginners  to improve their map reading skills and improve navigational skills.

The course consists of two stages on two separate days:

Day 1: Map Reading Theory

Four hours of indoor learning which includes key map and compass skills. The day ends with one hour outdoors putting all your new skills to practise!

Day 2: Map and Compass Practical Skills

Four Hours over beautiful Yorkshire hills and moorland, giving you the ideal opportunity to practise and build upon the skills you've acquired.

Enjoy the Yorkshire dales and fells with confidence!
